Masa Igata, Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Masa Igata is a well-known pioneer figure in the world of Asian frontier markets, with thirty years of experience in Asian financial markets. In his early career, he was the youngest Managing Director at Salomon Brothers Sales Department playing one of the leading roles in Japanese equity sales. In addition to managing operations, he actively advocated Investor Relations to Japanese listed companies. He is considered to be the pioneer of Investor Relations in Japan as he has long advocated the concept to Japanese capital markets.

After twenty years of careers as an investment banker in Japan, Mr. Igata has established Frontier Securities in 2007, the first foreign investment Bank in Mongolia, after conducting several years of in-depth research of Asian frontier markets and focusing on Mongolia as having greatest potential.

Mr. Igata now focuses primarily on advising resource companies in Mongolia on conducting due diligence before making investment decisions in regard to Mongolia with expertise in M&A, PE, pre-IPO and IPO financing and other various forms of fund raising on cross border business between Mongolia and abroad. He also devotes significant amount of time to promotion of Mongolia mostly in Asian financial centers, analyzing frontier market trends and engages in dialogue across the frontier markets’ investing community and media that covers it. He also brings insight and expertise to a wide range of topics in financial markets within Mongolia.

Mr. Igata received his Graduate of Law from Kyoto University, and he is a member of Securities Analysts Association of Japan.

Mr. Igata is also Director of Prophecy Development Corp, Toronto Listed company which has significant coal assets in Mongolia and Silver assets in Bolivia.
