Mongolia’s Achilles Tendon, Mar. 13, 2013

Mongolian economy has been doing very well since Lehman Shock and signing of IA on OT in 2009. But, are there any risk of sudden downturn of the economy?

We believe one of the biggest risks (Achilles Tendon) is related to the over- estimated budget of Mongolia in 2013.

This report explains the risks associated with the expansionary fiscal policy in Mongolia and the impact to budget, rating and currency. Although Mongolia looks quite healthy at appearance, in case the Government runs at a speed that their Achilles tendon cannot sustain, the tendon might suffer significant injury all at sudden.
